COMPANY

HISTORY

The company was founded in July 2008, beginning operations with a core team of experienced aerospace engineers. It was initially based at the German Aerospace Center (DLR, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, where many of the employees continue to support the Columbus project, the European contribution to the International Space Station programme, as well as various satellite projects.

Over the years, our engineers have provided essential, round-the-clock, support to both flight and ground computer system operations, and have developed innovative software for web tools, simulators, training and 3D visualization tools.

In 2011, INSYEN SAS was founded in Toulouse, France, to widen our activities to include opportunities in the French aerospace industry.

In 2012, we set up a production facility at the Astopark complex in Gilching, Germany, to provide product development services for the aerospace industry. This facility currently serves 3 different customers, including production, integration and testing of OEM products that are marketed internationally by these customers.

In 2017, INSYEN becomes part of the GMV family of companies and merged with GMV GmbH to create GMV INSYEN. The merged GMV INSYEN Company, with 120 employees, focuses on the traditional business lines of GMV GmbH and INSYEN AG while reinforcing support activities for operations in DLR, ESOC, EUMETSAT and other clients of the space sector. This merger also allows the resultant company to tap into significant commercial, technological and operational synergies, multiplying its growth rate and driving deeper involvement in European and German space programs.

GMV GmbH was founded in 2009 and headquartered in Darmstadt, but its trading relations with ESOC date right back to GMV’s first ever contract for ESA in 1984. Over the years, GMV managed to make itself a leading supplier of ESOC and Eumetsat in a number of domains including mission analysis, navigation, flight dynamics, mission control systems, mission planning, data processing, simulation, space situational awareness and operations.

GMV INSYEN‘s continuing success is based on its drive and ability to provide innovative solutions to complex engineering problems, while guaranteeing a high level of customer satisfaction.
